It was a close call last Tuesday as students from Weatherford High School battled it out to win our four-way test speech competition. These high school students took topics important to them and created a five to seven minute speech relating their topic to the Four-Way Test. This year sophomore Hailey Rodriguez won first place and the $500 prize with her speech about girl power. Second place with the $300 prize went to junior Charlotte Almeida who spoke about gun control. Senior Zander Thompson won third place and the $200 prize with his speech about healthcare. All three students did an outstanding job with their informative and persuasive speeches. Hailey will head to the district contest on April 20 at North Side Baptist Church.
